I can be so unbelievably stupid sometimes. There are days where I just think say and do all the wrong things. And to take my mind off of it, I spend hours rotting my brain on tumblr and facebook and reading useless articles, until I realize what a stupid waste of time that was too.  Then I spend hours hating myself for it, beating myself up and getting lost in this black hole of condemning thoughts and the next thing I know, it’s 4:30am and I still can’t fall asleep.  

Time after time, it somehow slips my mind to turn to Christ during those times.  It’s like I never learn.  Yet it’s precisely these times where Grace is overwhelming. It’s these times where I realize how much Christ loves to give me new beginnings despite me, despite how much I fail, and even more, how much I fail to look to the only one who gives me strength, the only one good and kind enough to keep no record of my mistakes and love me as if they never happened. 

Who am I to anticipate failure or disappointment in the now, which is only temporary?  if God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:21-32) He has given me all that I need.   I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,  neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38)
